Tile adhesive is a type of specialty mortar designed specifically for bonding surfacing materials such as tiles and stone. Suitable for indoor wall and floor applications as well as standard exterior wall installations, it serves as a modern alternative to traditional cement mortar. It is available in three grades—C0, C1, and C2—with raw material compositions varying by grade; higher-strength grades contain a greater proportion of additives. Required raw materials include cement, sand, heavy calcium carbonate powder, redispersible polymer powder, cellulose ether, starch ether, calcium formate, and other chemical additives. The production line primarily consists of a material lifting system, storage units, material conveying and batching systems, weighing units, a batch lifting system, a pre-mixing hopper, the main mixer, a finished product packaging system, an automatic palletizing system, a dust collection system, and a PLC-based master control system.

Product Introduction

Ceramic tile adhesive (ceramic tile bonding agent) is a high-performance paving material that replaces traditional cement mortar. It is mainly made by mixing cement, graded fine sand, and polymer additives. It has the advantages of high bonding strength, water and moisture resistance, anti slip, and thin pasting to save space, which can effectively prevent tile hollowing and peeling.

Main Categories and Characteristics

Ordinary type

Suitable for pasting ordinary ceramic tiles with high water absorption rate and small-sized wall and floor tiles.

Enhanced/Fully Effective

Polymer modified for higher adhesion, suitable for most indoor wall and floor tiles.

Heavy brick/large board special type

Specially designed for low water absorption large-sized vitrified bricks, marble or rock boards, and needs to be used with adhesive backing for better results.

Base treatment

The wall or floor should be flat, solid, clean, free of oil stains and floating dust.

 
 
 

Mixing with water

Strictly add water according to the proportion, mix well with an electric mixer to form a paste without lumps, let it stand for a few minutes, and then stir again.

 
 
 

Thin pasting method construction

Use a toothed scraper to evenly apply the adhesive on the base and brick back, and knead it in place when laying.

Advantages of Twin-shaft Gravity-free Mixer Production Line for Tile Adhesive Manufacturing

1. Tile adhesive is generally composed of cement, sand, heavy-calcium carbonate/mineral fillers, together with functional additives such as cellulose ether, redispersible polymer powder and starch ether. Equipped with paddles on two mixing shafts, the twin-shaft paddle gravity-free mixer creates intense convection, tumbling and cross-flow movement of materials. Powders of varying particle sizes and densities are thoroughly blended, which helps guarantee consistent performance of tile adhesive from batch to batch.
2. Additives including cellulose ether, starch ether and RDP are dosed in small proportions in tile adhesive, yet they exert significant influence on water retention, open time, bond strength, anti-slippage property and workability. The combination of a twin-shaft gravity-free mixer and a precision micro-additive dosing system delivers superior homogeneous dispersion of additives, improving formulation stability.
3. Twin-shaft gravity-free mixers feature high mixing efficiency and are suitable for continuous batch-mode production. A 2-cubic-meter mixer handles 1,000 kg per batch, with a mixing cycle of 0.5-3 minutes per batch. Actual mixing duration can be adjusted according to tile-adhesive formulations and material characteristics.
4. The structural design of the gravity-free mixer enables fast material flow and discharge, minimizing material residue inside the mixing chamber.
5. For factories manufacturing multiple grades simultaneously, including C1 / C2 tile adhesive, standard-grade tile adhesive, high-strength tile adhesive, flexible tile adhesive and large-format tile adhesive, this mixer reduces cross-contamination between different formulations.
